SPECIAL CALL TO ACTION
WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW!
Neighbors and Friends,
If you can help, the time is now.
From hospitals and nursing homes to grocery stores and child-care centers, workers in the San Fernando Valley and across the region need our help to protect themselves during this crisis.
Whether you've got a package of N95 masks that our nurses and doctors desperately need, or hand-sewn cloth masks store clerks can use on the job, we'll take them.
It's not every day that business leaders, labor unions and elected officials from across a region as large and diverse as ours can put their differences aside and work for the common good.
This is one of those times. We all agree that there's nothing more important right now than getting protective equipment into the hands of those who need it most - the people on the frontlines of addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.
That's why we've created the unique partnership you can read more about below, designed to link those who can help with those who need it. You can donate now here.
As always, I welcome your comments and questions via this link. - Bob Hertzberg
BUSINESS, LABOR AND ELECTED LEADERS ISSUE JOINT CALL TO ACTION TO COLLECT PERSONAL PROTECTIVE GEAR TO SAFEGUARD WORKERS
Working with labor and business organizations across Los Angeles County, Senate Majority Leader Robert Hertzberg and other lawmakers representing the region have formed a partnership to encourage and collect donations of masks and other personal protective gear for distribution to workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The partnership brings together the BizFed Institute, along with Los Angeles-based locals of the Service Employees International Union, the Hospital Association of Southern California and BizFed's 195 business associations representing over 400,000 employers.
The effort will accept donations of medical and non-medical personal protective equipment in any amounts at drop-off points being established across the region to help protect workers throughout the county. To make a donation, visit http://bizfedinstitute.org/covid-19-supplies/
