Senator Padilla’s Statement on Gun Violence and Hate Attack in America and Australia
SACRAMENTO – State Senator Steve Padilla (D-San Diego) released the following statement today in response to the recent gun violence at Brown University and in Sydney, Australia:
“These senseless acts of hatred, both here at home and across the globe, are painful and stark reminders of the price of the failure to ad dress gun violence and antisemitism. We cannot become desensitized to this pain and history demands that we speak out against these attacks rooted in bigotry. My deepest condolences and prayers go to the families and loved ones of those that have been impacted by this violence.”
