Majority Leader Hertzberg’s Statement on Governor Newsom’s 2021-22 State Budget Proposal

January 8, 2021

SACRAMENTO – Senate Majority Leader Bob Hertzberg (D-Van Nuys) released the following statement today regarding Governor Gavin Newsom’s proposed 2021-22 state budget:

“It’s important to keep looking forward as California endures, rebuilds and recovers from this historic pandemic. The Governor’s Budget prioritizes our fight against COVID-19 and provides economic relief for small businesses, which have been among the hardest hit in our communities. It invests in safely reopening our schools and getting our kids back in the classroom, the homelessness crisis and fighting wildfires, all of which are paramount for us here in the San Fernando Valley. I am committed to working with the Governor to enact this ambitious Budget strategy, and the collective recovery process that will ensure a bright future for California.”
