Hertzberg Applauds Groundbreaking of North Hollywood West Groundwater Treatment Project

Supported by state funding, the $92 million project will clean up and restore the use of groundwater as a safe, high-quality source of drinking water in the San Fernando Valley

January 17, 2018

SACRAMENTO – Sen. Bob Hertzberg (D-Van Nuys), Chair of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Water, released the following statement today following the groundbreaking of the North Hollywood West Groundwater Treatment Project:

“This project reflects the new direction of water policy in California: stormwater capture, recycling water, and conservation. Southern California must no longer rely on importing water from Northern California and the Colorado River. As Chair of the Natural Resources and Water Committee, I applaud the Mayor and City Council on this forward thinking initiative.”
